An extraordinary molasses rum, distilled in 1997 and perfectly aged for 20 years in ex-bourbon barrels. El Dorado Port Mourant 1997 was bottled in Guyana in 2017 at cask strength, non-blended and non-chill filtered. This rum marks the first bottling in a limited series crafted from three historic wooden pot stills: the Enmore Wooden Continuous Coffey Still, the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still, and the Versailles Wooden Single Pot Still.
The Demerara Distillery dates back to the 17th century and it is considered one of the oldest distilleries in the world; throughout the years the original stills were kept and are presently used, each creating a different style of spirit.
