Clarendon 1995 by The Wild Parrot is a Jamaican single cask bottled in 2020 by the Italian independent bottler linked to Hidden Spirits. Cask WP95659 was released at 65.9% volume after 24 years, with the label keeping the focus exactly where it belongs: one distillery, one vintage, one powerful cask.
AGEING: long island maturation gives this rum a very concentrated frame. The oak has not softened it into sweetness; it has tightened the structure around Clarendon's high-strength distillate and left a firm, dry, commanding profile.
SERVING: serve neat at room temperature in a small tulip glass; wait before adding water, then use single drops only. Pair with high-cacao chocolate, aged hard cheese or La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel, a future FiGee cigar with enough strength and draw focus for this cask.
New Yarmouth 1994 by The Wild Parrot is a 26-year Jamaican single cask from the noted 1994 vintage, bottled in 2020 at its natural cask strength of 68.1%. Cask WP94681 yielded 242 bottles, making this a narrow, high-proof reading of one barrel rather than a blended house style.
AGEING: the rum was matured for a long period before bottling, with the long tropical period shaping a firm, dry structure. The confirmed points are New Yarmouth origin, molasses base, single cask, natural strength and no sweetened profile.
SERVING: pour a small measure into a tulip glass and let it rest before the first sip. Add a few drops of still water if the strength needs opening. At the table, pair with roasted cashews, aged Gouda or a medium-bodied Nicaraguan cigar.

What does “tropical ageing” change in the glass?
Ageing in a warm climate often accelerates interaction with oak, helping develop richer caramelised tones, deeper spice, and more pronounced wood notes.
How do column and pot still distillates show up here?
The profile combines a clean structure with rounder, more textured flavours, especially after long maturation.

Samaroli Four Origins is a 2022 private bottling for Davidoff, labelled as Blended Rum and released in 331 bottles. It brings together components from Nicaragua, Trinidad, Jamaica and Mauritius at 45% volume, with column and pot distillates, molasses and cane-juice bases each contributing a different register.
BLEND: Nicaragua 2000 and Trinidad TDL 2010 give the column-still molasses frame; Jamaica 2015 adds the pot-still accent; Mauritius 2015 brings the cane-juice lift. The maturation background includes ex-bourbon and ex-sherry/whisky casks, but the point is balance rather than cask display.
SERVING: serve neat at room temperature in a small tulip glass. For the intended cigar match, choose Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto: its coffee, chocolate and leather profile connects naturally with the Nicaraguan component while keeping the blend clear. Roasted almonds or aged hard cheese also work at the table.
