A light and summery single malt skillfully designed by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, inspired by the winemaking region of Madeira.
This whisky is part of the Cask Finishes range, launched exclusively to global travel retail. The range consists of whiskies finished in a variety of casks sourced from all corners of the globe by The Balvenie's distilling team on their quest to find new, exciting notes to compliment the signature taste of their whisky.
The first of The Balvenie Cask finish series exploring French Oak.
A single malt aged sixteen years in American Oak and finished in casks that previously held wine from the French Charentes vineyards.
Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine made by adding unfermented grape juice or must to Cognac. The process prevents the grape juice from fermenting and creates a delicate flavour profile.
This 25 year old is part of The Balvenie Rare Marriages Range, a collection designed by David Stewart MBE, consisting of three distinct whiskies that showcase extraordinary layers of depth and complexity.
The stunning design has been created in collaboration with renowned paper quilling artist Yulia Brosdskaya. The artwork visually represents this new luxurious whisky, which is best defined as rich, smooth and underpinned by the distinctively honeyed character of The Balvenie.
A special release from The Balvenie Stories Range of single malt whiskies. Aged 21 years in Port Pipes and finished in casks that previously held Australian Shiraz wines, the combination results in a dram filled with notes of fresh, ripe fruits and delicate spice.
The Balvenie Stories range is a collection of single malt whiskies representing tales of character, endeavor and craft. Each bottle comes with an audiobook which brings to life the story behind each expression.
This is the story about distillery manager Ian Millar who was keen to experiment with The Balvenie flavor profile using what he had learned from a trip to Islay. For a week a year, The Balvenie distills a batch of peated malt, resulting in a whisky rich in honey, vanilla and citrus notes with an extra layer of delicate smokiness.
Since 2002, the Balvenie distillers have dedicated one week a year to distilling whisky with 100% peated barley, resulting in the Peat Week bottlings! This is the second release in the series - a 14 year old single malt distilled in 2003, showing off hearty helping of rich smoke.
Limited to just 8,850 bottles worldwide – Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE drew on his extensive knowledge and expertly hand-selected 31 of the finest casks from the distillery’s precious aged whisky stocks. He used 12 sherry butts distilled between 1989 and 1992, 11 American oak hogsheads distilled in 1989 and eight refill American Oak butts distilled in 1992 and 1993.
All were transferred to the single marrying vessel, which for several months sat in Warehouse 24 before bottling. This is a rare interpretation of the marrying process, allowing all 31 casks to come together in a unique expression of The Balvenie that’s greater than the sum of its constituent parts.
Composed by a variety of rare reserves that have been aged for 21 years, on the final step it is transferred to a Port cask for further maturation. Non-Chill filtered, bottled at cask strength. Considered by many to be one of Balvenie's finest creation, this whisky has won an array of awards since its release in 1996.
Composed of an extraordinary marriage of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that have been rested in heavily peated casks and finished in American Oak casks. The result is a whisky with the typical Balvenie characteristics, sweet and spicy with layers of peaty smokiness.
An exceptional whisky matured in Caribbean rum casks for 14 years, finished in American Oak cask. These casks had been previously filled by the Master Cellar David Steward with a blend of old West Indian rum. This enhances the vanilla notes and adds spicy aromatic qualities to the whisky.
Limited edition of no more than 300 bottles, matured for 25 years in refilled American Oak cask; every bottle has the distillation and bottling date, the cask number and the Master Distiller's signature. Making them unique and unrepeatable. Non-Chill Filtered.
