Samaroli's Caol Ila 2018 is an Islay single malt — distilled at Caol Ila on the Sound of Islay, where the seaside maltings deliver the lightly-peated coastal style customers reach for in single malts. The Madeira-cask finish trades the typical bourbon-cask citrus for darker, fortified-wine sweetness.
MATURATION: Caol Ila 2018 distillate, one year in a bourbon cask before transfer to a Madeira cask for six further years; bottled 2025 by Samaroli. Limited bottling, natural colour, non-chill-filtered.
SUGGESTIONS: serve at 18°C in a tulip glass, with a few drops of still water if desired. Pairs with smoked salmon, an aged Manchego or a chocolate-and-fig dessert; the dried-fruit register holds up to richer plates. Cigar match: a Honduran corojo or Nicaraguan criollo, neither overpowering nor lost in the smoke.
Limitless Infinity Repeating #001 is the first blended malt from independent bottler Whisky is the Limit. This whisky is composed of a skilful blend of different malt from the Highlands and Islay, with a hint of peat. Aged in bourbon casks and then refined for a few months in a second-fill red wine cask.

Chapter 7 Prologue Batch 3 is a small-batch vatting — Speyside and Highland malts from independent distilleries, bottled at 47% volume. Approximately 6,000 numbered bottles, natural colour, non-chill-filtered.
MATURATION: four to eight years in bourbon barrels and hogsheads, vatted across the batch. Each release pulls a different cask set selected at peak — every numbered edition is its own assembly, even when the editorial brief stays the same.
SERVING: pour neat in a Glencairn or over a single large ice cube — the cold opens the mid-palate. Solid Whisky Sour base: 50 ml whisky, 25 ml lemon, 15 ml sugar syrup, one egg white, shaken hard. A sharing bottle for an evening, not a collector's piece.

John Glaser had combined the rich, bold spiciness of malt whisky aged in heavy-toasted French oak barrels with the evocative smoke of heavy-peated Islay malt whisky, yielding a flavour profile like no other in Scotch whisky: big, bold and hauntingly smoky, but with an alluring ethereal sweetness that calls you back to the glass. The 2018 edition has reintroduced a subtle sherry-cask influence that adds an additional layer of complexity and richness. Above all, share & enjoy.
