The whiskey is fully matured, then finished for two years in ex-brandy casks. Since brandy casks can be reused (unlike the new, charred barrels required for bourbon), this bottling is not technically a bourbon. It’s a finished whiskey shaped by brandy-cask oak.

Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition is crafted by finishing the most complex and balanced Kentucky Bourbon in select XO Cognac barrels. Sourced by Master Distiller Chris Morris, each barrel has seen three seasons of cognac before being filled with Woodford Reserve.
The result is the best of both spirits – a balance of crisp American and French oak notes, complex fruit character, subtle spiciness and a creamy confectionary finish.
This limited edition is presented in a bespoke Baccarat decanter, engraved and plated in 24-karat gold.

Woodford Whiskey Double Oak is made from corn, rye, barley malt and clear spring water. Using five to seven yeasts in a process of acid fermentation, a triple distillation takes place in copper stills. The whisky is then stored for about seven years in white oak casks, which have been produced and charred in the in-house kitchens. However, at Woodford Reserve, only Master Distiller Chris Morris decides how long the cask will mature and the exact time of discharge. The bourbon then matures for nine months before being bottled. This gives Bourbon Double Oaked a sweeter and smoother flavour.
