Located in the valley of Miyagi, north of Japan’s Honshu island.Founded in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru, a Japanese businessman who travelled to Scotland to study Chemistry and had the opportunity to learn the art of Master blending, becoming the first Japanese to produce whisky at the time.The Miyagikyo is the second distillery after the Yoichi, intended to deliver a different style of whisky. Single Malts are produced in eight pot stills and Grain whiskies are produced in two Coffey Stills. Miyagikyo whiskies are known for their floral and fruity flavour profile.
