The scrumptious eight-year Aberlour was finished in First fill Oloroso sherry quarter for almost a year. The small-sized barrel allowed a better marriage of flavors between the Sherry and the whisky. Aberlour was bottled by independent bottler Whisky Is The Limit at cask strength of 58.5%. Very limited, only 225 bottles have been released.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow with golden reflections.
Candied sultanas, figs and bitter orange combined with light notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, tobacco, honey and fresh yeast.
A multitude of spices reminiscent of freshly baked gingerbread, ground mustard and oak wood.
A spice cake dipped in sherry.
