R-01 introduced the distillery’s signature single malt in 2021. Bottled at 46.4% vol. without chill filtration, it is distinct from the 2020 Inaugural Release, the first batch of the core range following the 2020 Inaugural Release. A true collectors bottle. MATURATION: Peated and unpeated spirits mature separately in three cask types before blending. The recipe combines 60% first-fill ex-rye whiskey casks, 26% virgin Chinkapin oak and 14% first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. The rye whiskey cask contribution adds a distinctive spice note alongside the light maritime peat and heather honey of the Raasay house style; the Bordeaux cask contributes dark berry depth without dominating. SUGGESTIONS: Try it neat first, then compare with a little water. A natural companion to pan-seared salmon, duck breast with berry reduction, or simply a quiet early evening

Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day met in 2013 and developed their distillery project on Raasay, between Skye and the Scottish mainland. The distillery opened on 14 September 2017, incorporating the nineteenth-century Borodale House. Its whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on the island. The first bottling was in 2020. The distillery draws on the island's volcanic-sourced water and carefully selected Scottish barley, and belongs to a younger generation of Scottish producers staking a strong local identity.
