This special release comes from one of the first casks ever filled at Langatun and is among the last remaining from the distillery’s early years. Distilled on March 3, 2008, it spent 14 years ageing in a 225-litre barrique before being bottled on September 9, 2022—yielding just 498 bottles. The Langatun Vintage Reserve series features single-cask bottlings from the distillery’s early days, each aged over a decade to develop its rich character.
Tasting notes
Intense aromas of honey, raisins, apricots and roasted nuts balanced with wood spice and delicate tannins.
Located in the heart of Switzerland, Langatun Distillery turns barley into whisky using traditional methods. First, the barley is milled and mixed with pure alpine water to create a wash, which naturally ferments to develop rich flavors. Next, the wash is distilled in copper stills to capture the finest aromas. After distillation, the whisky is aged in oak casks for several years to build depth and character before it is finally bottled, showcasing the true taste of Swiss craftsmanship.
