Da Hong Pao Tea Gin is an earthy, floral, richly coloured gin that captivates not only with its style but also with its ingredients. Handcrafted by the Bimber London distillery with one of the world’s most expensive teas. Da Hong Pao is a rare, heavily oxidised oolong tea with an earthy, floral and sweet taste profile. The tea grows between the rocks of Southern China’s breathtaking Wuyi Mountains. The infusion is created by mixing the brewed tea with the gin, which contains botanicals such as juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and orris root.
Tasting notes
The intense aromas of tea are prominent and complemented by slightly smoky notes.
Taste-wise, it is a very complex gin with many facets. Floral and fruity aromas are noticeable, as well as earthy notes. Citrus, lavender and spicy aromas come in addition.
The finish is warm and rich with a woody aftertaste.
