Along with the traditional ingredients of Monkey 47, the annual edition has a special ingredient: Fir Honey or honeydew found on silver fir tree from the Black Forest. The combination of honey and alcohol has a long history "Mead", or honey wine, was believed to be the brew of choice of the gods in Germanic mythology. Monkey 47 Distiller's Cut 2016 is handcrafted, double distilled, matured for three months in stoneware containers, and blended with soft spring water from the Black Forest. This bottle is part of the Distiller's Cut series, an annual edition showcasing a “Species Rara” or special ingredient that compliments the 47 traditional botanicals in the gin. Limited edition of 4000 numbered bottles, presented in a wooden case, making it an excellent bottle for gin collectors.
