Samaroli presents the second edition of Pacific Oblivion - This time sourced from a single cask. This rum was distilled in 2009, aged in a single cask #24 and bottled in 2021. Samaroli describes this bottling as a true classic in their portfolio, and it is worth noting that a mere 340 bottles of this rum have been made available to the global market.
Tasting notes
Classic amber tones with deep golden hues.
Sophisticated nose with classic tones we have grown to recognise. Waxy with a hint of varnish.
Medicinal notes and dried fruits can describe this rum as peaty. The palate is infused with a sense of fire that turns to vanilla, liquorice, mint and spices like pink pepper and nutmeg.
Love is so short and forgetting is so long. (Pablo Neruda)
Samaroli is probably Italy's most renowned independent bottler. With his irreproachable taste for single cask whiskies and an eye for aesthetics, he is considered a visionary by most. Numerous of his bottlings now occupy a worthy place in the pantheon of whisky giants, and the rum production under Antonio Bleve's direction is also increasingly in demand.
