The first release of Ballyroe 1.1 was made from Irish barley grown by third-generation Simon Neville, whose land sits on the Seafield series where the sandy, coarse texture makes for a challenging terroir in drier years and a fruitier, more floral spirit. Matured in a spectrum of fresh, super-premium oak: 36% first-fill US oak 21% virgin US oak 24% premium French oak and 19% Vin Doux Naturel – sweet fortified wine casks. Bottled at 50% ABV without colouring, chill-filtration or any additives.
