The very first edition new Cask Strength release is classic BenRiach in style and shows it in its most natural state, cask strength, non chill filtered and of natural colour, allowing the distillery's unique spirit to shine through. This complex single malt has a creamy, delicate taste and aroma that truly captures the BenRiach character with a combination of vanilla, fruits and sweet barley. The BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1 is bottled at 57.2%.
Tasting notes
Gleaming harvest gold with burnished coppper edge
Sweet toasted oak spices interwoven with roasted orchard fruits and dusted with cracked barley. Black vanilla pods, desiccated coconut and a gentle floral note add complexity to the ripe, fruit-laden nose
An excellent example of the delicious BenRiach character. Creamy heather honey pours over a medley of apples, pears and apricots. Subtle notes of candied peel and fresh ginger give a delicate warmth and lead to a classic combination of vanilla, toasted coconut and sweet barley in the luscious, velvety finish
BenRiach is located in the heartland of Malt Whisky, the Speyside region of Scotland. Established in 1898 and built by John Duff, the distillery is only one of the two left that still uses traditional malting floors and has a pagoda roof. As progressive Speyside whisky distillers, BenRiach crafts unpeated, peated and triple distilled malt whisky and holdssome of the most experimental casks in Speyside. Small wonder the distillery team have nicknamed the distillery ‘The Lab’.
