Macallan Double Cask whiskies are matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned oak casks. The ageing process takes place in both American and European oak casks. The American oak provides delicate flavors of vanilla, citrus, and butterscotch, while the European oak adds a distinctive subtle spice found in Macallan single malts. After 15 years, these two exceptional whiskies are combined to create a whisky with a sweeter and warmer taste.
