A rare single malt whisky from the legendary Port Ellen Distillery, which closed its doors in 1983. This is the 8th release in Diageo's Special releases series. This whisky was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2008 making it highly collectable bottle. This whisky is part of an annual collection of 17 bottlings released between 2001 and 2017. With Port Ellen no longer featured in Diageo's Special Releases, these editions have become even more valuable, representing some of the last remaining aged stocks from the distillery.
