This single malt was aged for 11 years in First-fill ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at natural cask strength This whisky is part of Diageo's Special Releases 2022. The collection features eight whiskies, each hand-selected by Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson. Elusive Expressions is the latest chapter in the limited "Special Releases", where mythical creatures are unleashed through striking artwork and stories. This year, illustrator Ken Taylor and digital visualisation artist Kevin Tong work together to bring out the character of each bottling.
Tasting notes
Medium body with a smooth oily texture. Sweet, smoky and spicy, with distinct fruity hints followed by fine salty notes. With a drop of water, the sweet fruitiness and saltiness come into their own.
Long, sustained and lightly smoky, with lingering warming spice.
Founded in 1830, Talisker was the first licensed distillery on Skye and is the oldest still operating on the island. Talisker is famous for its full-bodied, rich character and strong-peppery whiskies. Their complex single malts carry the taste of the sea within, evoking the oyster beds in the clear waters from the island's West coast.
