Bowmore 9 Years Old is bottled at 40% volume. MATURATION: It matures in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak Oloroso sherry butts, a dual-cask regime that gives the whisky its fruit-driven sweetness alongside Islay's characteristic peat smoke. SUGGESTIONS: Serve neat or with a splash of water to open the aroma. Pairs well with dark chocolate or a mild blue cheese, and suits a Nicaraguan or Dominican cigar.
