Pungent and robust. A complex single malt, single cask whisky with a wonderful bouquet. Strongly peated on the palate, with intense notes of roasted cereal and wet leather, accompanied by fruit and citrus notes. The finish is slightly salty and long-lasting. This is a wonderful small batch Island whisky with only 330 numbered bottles.
Tasting notes
Amber
Toasted teacakes with softened butter, incense and a hint of tarry ropes.
More fruit-forward than the nose, with grilled lemon and fresh pear developing.
A salty tang lingers on the finish.
The Ledaig Distillery - today known as Tobermory Distillery is located on the Island of Mull and dates back to 1798. Malt Whisky production in the distillery is split in half between the Tobermory and Ledaig single malts, each malt reflects the inspiring Island of Mull – from the bright and colorful Tobermory with vibrant fruit, spice and subtle salty notes, reflective of harbor waters, to the more robust, peated Ledaig with sweet smoke and earthy notes.
