An exceptional whisky matured in Caribbean rum casks for 14 years, finished in American Oak cask. These casks had been previously filled by the Master Cellar David Steward with a blend of old West Indian rum. This enhances the vanilla notes and adds spicy aromatic qualities to the whisky.
Tasting notes
Smooth, honeyed with notes of toffee and a hint of fruit, with a warm, long finish.
Founded in 1892 by William Grant, ever since little has changed. Thanks to a combination of natural alchemy and centuries-old craftsmanship, The Balvenie is unique among single malts. It is the only distillery that still grows its own barley and has one of the few malting floors left in Scotland. Their casks are maintained by coppersmiths in order to ensure that each barrel is in perfect condition.
