La Maggiorina 2022 is Le Piane's red field blend from Alto Piemonte, harvested from old mixed vineyards with more than thirteen local varieties. It is the estate's lighter, more immediate red, but it still carries the savoury detail and mountain freshness that make Boca distinctive. WINEMAKING: The varieties are picked together, fermented as a field blend, and matured in large oak barrels. The result stays transparent and energetic, with 12.5 to 14% volume depending on the final blend. SERVING: Serve at 15 to 16°C with agnolotti del plin, mushroom risotto, roast poultry, grilled lamb, or young alpine cheese. It is ready now and can develop well for several years.

Le Piane is central to the revival of Boca in Alto Piemonte, where volcanic soils and cool Alto Piemonte air shape wines of tension rather than weight. Christoph Künzli preserved old vineyards and cellar traditions that were close to disappearing. The estate is especially tied to the historic Maggiorina training system, with very old mixed plantings kept as a living part of the appellation. The cellar style is patient, traditional, and built around freshness.
