This is a very rare and unique bottling originally released for the Japanese market. Matured exclusively in Bourbon cask, bottled at cask strength. The perfect addition to a collection of rare whiskies. The Shokugen Tanbou series is available in very limited quantities.
Founded by Ichiro Akuto - grandson of the originator of the Hanyu Distillery, which has been closed for a few years. Chichibu became operational in 2008 and it is the first and smallest Japanese single malt distillery since the Hakushu. The distillery is known for producing fruity and well-balanced whiskey and for housing the last stocks of Karuizawa, Kawasaki and Hanyu, and has its own bottling facility.
