Independent bottler Chapter 7 presents the first bottling of a heavily peated Knockdhu in the Monologue series. This single malt was distilled in 2006, bottled in 2022 & aged in a single Bourbon cask. This cask is an excellent example of peat evolution. Peat is typically dominant in the first 10-12 years of a malt's existence before evolving into rustic notes and fading to the background as it ages.
Tasting notes
Minerals, ashy, roasted almonds, coffee beans, hint of caramel.
Dark roasted Arabica, earthy, orange marmalade, smoky resins.
Black tea with lemon, roasted, caramelised cane sugar and citrus.
