Master blender Rachel Barrie has selected a small number of Bourbon cask octaves, Pedro Ximénez and Amontillado Sherry Cask Octaves, which are about 1/8th the size of a butt, to be bottled as part of the original Glenglassaugh Octaves Batch 2. The smaller casks allow for a more effective interaction between the wood and alcohol, giving the whisky great depth of flavour in a short time. Bottled at 44%, without cold filtering and with a natural colour.
