The 1972 release is the second in a series of six Highland Single Malts, following the successful release of the 1971 bottling. This is a limited edition of 380 bottles and the perfect addition to a whisky collection. The Warehouse 6 Collection celebrates the maturation of casks in Tomatin’s traditional dunnage warehouse. Cask numbers 23404, 23405 and 23406 have been resting in Warehouse 6 since 1972, gently and slowly maturing the precious spirit within, waiting patiently for the perfect moment to catch the whisky in its prime. The whisky was aged in Sherry Hogsheads, bottled on the 10th February 2014 at 42.1% ABV. Tomatin 1972 is presented in a luxury wooden box that includes a display plinth holding a hand-blown crystal decanter and two crystal tumblers supplied by Scottish company Glencairn Crystal. The bottle boasts a solid copper stopper supplied by Scottish Silver and a numbered certificate detailing the story of the whisky.
Tasting notes
In perfect harmony, aromas of autumn fruits, golden syrup and bursts of summer meadow wildflowers meet soft flavours of sweet almond, brown sugar, coffee and winter spices before a full, oily finish.
