Distilled in November 2011 at Blair Athol and matured for 10 years in a bourbon hogshead (cask no. 308058), this Highland single malt delivers a fruity, rounded and spiced profile — entirely unpeated, with the distillery's signature nutty warmth at its core. Bottled in October 2022 by Chapter 7 as part of the Monologue series: 313 bottles only, 50.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered, natural colour. An honest, direct encounter with Blair Athol at its most expressive.
Tasting notes
Deep amber gold with warm copper highlights.
Fresh oranges, floral honey and custard open over a base of dark chocolate and espresso. Malted grain and barley water notes add the gentle, nutty warmth characteristic of the Highland style.
Vibrant orange juice, natural vanilla, raisins and corn bread. The palate is round and full, developing into gentle sweet spice.
Long finish of overbaked pear tart, ginger, cinnamon and bay leaves. The warmth of the spirit integrates seamlessly throughout.
