Graham's Single Harvest 1974 "The Artisan" is part of the Cellar's Master Trilogy Series, which celebrates elegance and true craftsmanship.
According to harvest notes from Michael Symington, despite political turbulences, "the overall 1974 Port wine vintage must prove to be one of the best for many years".
As to be expected from Taylor, the quality of the fruits is extremely fine and highly concentrated, although the year seems to have given the wine an extra coat of density and heaviness. A familiar whiff of violet hangs over the wine along with rose petals and wild minty herbal aromas.
The 60s are known as the years of the "rebels" because of the cultural and ideological changes of the time. It is also a decade full of memorable wines that are almost impossible to find today. The Taylor’s Vintage Port 1961 has a striking balanced taste that is still pure and clear despite its many years of ageing in wood.
Composed of 100% Palomino Fina of Barbadillo’s best and oldest wines. True oenological jewels that have been stored in soleras for more than 30 years, waiting for the right moment to entice the experts. San Rafael sherry Oloroso is created by adding a tiny hint of Pedro Ximénez to a dry Oloroso wine to create what is known as “Amoroso”. The name refers to the smoothness obtained during the long ageing process, made according to the traditional “Clases” system.
Composed of very old Palo Cortado wines that have been stored in soleras for more than 30 years, waiting for the right moment to be selected by the experts. These wines are analysed by a committee of experts before being certified as "Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum.
Palo Cortado is among the most special wines within the Jerez-Xèrés-Sherry Denomination of Origin. Despite undergoing the physical-chemical oxidative ageing process used for oloroso wines, the resulting product is somewhat of a cross between an oloroso and an amontillado.
The smaller version of Principe VORS presented in a 37.5cl bottle. 100% Palomino Fina grapes composed of a selection of Barbadillo’s oldest wines. True oenological jewels that have been stored in soleras for more than 30 years, waiting for the right moment to entice the experts. These wines are analysed by a committee of experts before being certified as "Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum.
The epitome of a Manzanilla Fino from the port of Sanlucar de Barrameda. Recently, the renowned Bodega Barbadillo began to use the very original label that brings back a style from the 19th century that slowly disappeared until recent times.
This wine pairs well with all kinds of tapas, fish dishes, smoked salmon, salads or nutty dishes. Serve cool as an aperitif or simply as a drinking treat.
This wine is obtained by drying the Pedro Ximénez grapes on mats in the sun. Once pressed, the grapes deliver an intensely rich must. For this wine, alcohol had to be added to prevent fermentation and loss of sweetness.
This wine is matured in American oak barrels according to the criaderas and solera system which was started in 1927.
A non-vintage wine elaborated from grapes that have been dried out in the sun, aged in American oak barrels, using the traditional system of criaderas and soleras. The PX 1927 is the winery's hallmark and a special selection from the winemaker of Bodegas Alvear.
In this wine, the Pedro Ximénez influence is less present, here we can reach the boundaries between a sweet and dry wine. Matured for more than 10 years in oak barrels. As opposed to the Fino, Alvear produces their Oloroso by impeding the development of the Velo de Flor, where a thin layer of yeast formes aiding the natural ageing process.
Due to the abundance of natural sugars in the Pedro Ximénez grapes, no alcohol is required at any stage of production or ageing.
A fine sherry with great depth and the typical Montilla grapey character. Made from unfortified Pedro Ximénez wine, that has matured for more than six years according to the natural ageing process Velo de flor and under the traditional Solera System.
It is worth mentioning that, as this wine is made from Pedro Ximénez grapes which are very rich in sugars, no alcohol is required at any stage of production or ageing.
A delicacy par excellence. This exquisite port wine harmonizes perfectly with dried fruits and chocolate desserts and is the perfect accompaniment to cigars. Ideal as a digestive.
Dom Rozès is made from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Frances, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz. After being carefully selected, the wine matures in oak barrels for at least four years.
