This cask is an excellent example of peat evolution. Peat is typically dominant in the first 10-12 years of a malt's existence before evolving into rustic notes and fading to the background as it ages.

The Glen Grant distillery is known for its light whisky style. Founded in 1839, it is one of the oldest distilleries in Speyside and the only remaining single malt distillery to still bear the name of its founders.
Usually, Blair Athol casks are destined for blending in ex-bourbon barrels.
For this release Chapter 7 made an exception and aged the whisky in a wine cask. The cask is likely a 2nd or 3rd fill, resulting in a complex dram rather than a dominant one.

The Isle of Jura distillery was founded by Archibald Campbell in 1810 and named the Small Isles Distillery. It was some eight years after the License Act of 1823 that William Abercombie obtained a license for the distillery, renaming it Isle Of Jura.
