Tobias & The Angel is composed of a blend of two single malt whiskies that complement each other exquisitely. The Clynelish gives it an ethereal character while the Caol Ila brings the smoky aromas.
The label comes from a Renaissance painting produced at Andrea del Verrocchio’s studio in Florence during the 15thcentury. Tobias & The angel showcases the talents of several artists. For example, the little dog and the gleaming fish carried by Tobias were both painted by a young Leonardo da Vinci.
My first blend - "If you like innovation and uniqueness, this bottle is definitely for you. I went a little mad and married 4 single malts from Scotland and a delicious Irish Single Malt that very few courageous blenders with no cost concern would normally use for a blend. I chose an iconic 18 year old sherried Speysider and a 15 year old Irish Single Malt to build a solid fruity and sweet base. I continued vatting Island, Islay and Orkney Single malts to add diversity with peat, seaweed and salt, all in perfect proportions. The result is a succulent fusion blend, intriguing and highly addictive!" Gerik
John Glaser had combined the rich, bold spiciness of malt whisky aged in heavy-toasted French oak barrels with the evocative smoke of heavy-peated Islay malt whisky, yielding a flavour profile like no other in Scotch whisky: big, bold and hauntingly smoky, but with an alluring ethereal sweetness that calls you back to the glass. The 2018 edition has reintroduced a subtle sherry-cask influence that adds an additional layer of complexity and richness. Above all, share & enjoy.
A unique spirit, a piece of history that encompasses the mastery of men of the past that addressed the creation of a whisky not influenced by market dynamics, but exclusively devoted to the pursuit of quality without compromise.

The idea of creating this whisky was sparked by the discovery of a parcel of American oak barrels filled with mature, extremely peaty single malt whisky - tarry and full of bonfire-like smokiness.

Made from a combination of single malts from three of Speyside's finest distilleries (The Balvenie, Glenfiddich and Kinivie). Crafted with 100% malt, matured in first fill old bourbon casks, for three to six months, which gives a smooth and mellow vanilla flavour into the resting malt whisky.
Smooth and rich. Enjoy neat, over ice or mixed in cockails.
